This is for those involved in the installation of Curtain
Wall systems. This specialist part of the Glass industry that has seen rapid
developments in technology and an ever increasing need to comply with
legislation and guidance on a wide range of issues including Health and Safety
related matters
A Curtain Wall Qualification is currently available at Level
2; there will shortly also be a Level 3 Curtain Wall Installation qualification
(a Level 3 can currently be achieved through taking the relevant units in the
Fenestration Level 3).
These have been developed as all GQA qualifications are - working with the Industry to make sure they are relevant, fit for purpose and suitable for as much of the industry as possible and not written just to suit the needs and procedures of large organisations.
The Level 2 qualification is
suited to those carrying out routine installation tasks, the Level 3 is more
suited to those with experience of, and responsibility for, leading a team of
Installers, identifying and rectifying problems and or carrying out specialist
installation work.
GQA Curtain Wall Installation
qualifications are recognised by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme
and allow achievers to apply for the relevant CSCS Card.
