Fenestration Installation and Surveying

These qualifications are for those who are installing any or all of the following; windows, doors, conservatories, these can be UPVC, aluminium or both. This is another specialist part of the Glass industry that has seen rapid developments in technology and an ever increasing need to comply with legislation and guidance on a wide range of issues including Health and Safety related matters and Building Regulations. Fitting Codes of Practice and best practice can change regularly so it is essential to keep pace with these updates.

Qualifications for Installers are available at Level 2 and Level 3, and have been developed as all GQA qualifications are - working with the Industry to make sure they are relevant, fit for purpose and suitable for as much of the industry as possible and not written just to suit the needs and procedures of large organisations.

The Level 2 qualification is suited to those carrying out routine installation tasks, the Level 3 is more suited to those with experience of, and responsibility for, leading a team of Installers, identifying and rectifying problems and or carrying out specialist installation work.

And of course, what installation can be carried out without a Survey? There is a separate qualification at Level 3 for those carrying out Survey work.

Curtain Wall Installers have their own specific qualifications which can be located in the relevant section.  GQA Fenestration Installation and Surveying qualifications are recognised by the Construction Skills Certification Scheme and allow achievers to apply for the relevant CSCS Card.
