GQA announce Best Practice in QCF Assessment Workshop

GQA Qualifications will be running a 1 day workshop entitled Best Practice in QCF Assessment, with 2 venues to be announced. The workshops are pencilled in for the 24th of November and the 7th December with the November date likely to be in the North of England and the December date in the Midlands / South of England.

The aims of the workshop are to:

introduce assessors to the changes that have taken place in the standards for assessing learners who are undertaking a programme of assessment and how this will impact on the role of an assessor.

Share best practice in assessment and to look at the role of the assessor in the programme of assessment and how to assess learners in an effective and efficient way.

The overall aim of this workshop is to share best practice in carrying out assessment of QCF learners from initial assessment through to completion of their portfolio. We will look at the processes to follow and the paperwork to use to all parts of the assessment process. The programme will also cover the use of technology in assessment.

At the end of this workshop you will have a better understanding of

The changes to and the requirements for assessing QCF qualifications

How to review the assessment process from starting the learner through to completion of their qualification

The assessor’s role in proving the competence of the learner

The various assessment methods available and how they can be used effectively

How to comply to the new standards for assessment when assessing learners

Whilst venues have yet to be confirmed it is anticipated that this will be a full day programme with a start time of 09.30, finishing at around 16.30.
