Mick is the Chief Executive at GQA and he joined the company in August 2005

Best Part of Working for GQA

Might sound corny but working with people who want to make a difference to others and for the right reasons.

Married? Kids?

Married to Eve. We have 2 young children - Noah 6 and Isabel 4. I also have an older son, Brendan (20) who is studying Film and TV at Salford Uni, and older daughter, Dannielle (16) who is about to leave school.

Star Sign

Aries

Favourite Colour

Red

Loves

My wife, my kids, my job. Playing Football - some may say I love Barnsley FC as well but that is just in my blood and I have no choice!

Dislikes

People with ulterior motives. Just be open.

Motto / Phrase

‘Advise, Support and Guide' or 'Plan, Assess, Record and Feedback’.

Favourite Food

Depends how I'm feeling but I enjoy Pasta, Chinese and Mexican

What’s on when you drive?

Stone Roses, Charlatans, Foals, Bastille, Smiths or Talksport!

Book or Film?

Probably film, my favourites are Donnie Darko and Franklyn. I do enjoy reading though, normally football autobiographies although The Barnsley Whale by Steve Deput was both engaging and interesting 

Favourite TV?

Blackadder, Sky Sports News, Phineas and Ferb (I’m not really a TV fan)

Favourite Holiday Destination?

So many fantastic places - I love Turkey, and the place I want to revisit is the Dordogne in France but I recently had the privilege of taking my youngest children to Lapland – once in a lifetime stuff!

Embarrassing Moment

Hillsborough. Sheffield Wednesday v Barnsley. 97th minute defeat. Man of the Match presentation. Photo still existing.

Proudest Moment(s)

Getting married to Eve and being with my kids. My MBA being presented by Patrick Stewart. Playing football at Old Trafford.
