Progress Update on The Master Fitter Challenge 2014

This year’s Master Fitter Challenge has attracted a large, keen and ready to go amount of applicants who are all willing to have their individual knowledge and practical skills put to the test.

The first round of the required disciplines has now been completed and the successful candidates have moved forward to the second round - the onsite observation round. The on-site observations give the applicants the chance to demonstrate their individual skills on how they start and complete their day to day tasks, with the Assessors looking not only for what they do correctly but also how they manage a safe working environment for all who could be affected by the installation.

The applicants that made it through to the second round come from various backgrounds; some are self-employed enterprises and some applicants represent the industries best known names. Interestingly we have 4 members through to the second round who were actively involved in the Final of the Master Fitter Challenge 2013.

Once the second round has been completed an independent panel will then select the 8 finalists to compete in the final and once again have their chance to demonstrate their skills to FIT Show 2014 Assessors and visitors.
